Founder's Message

Welcome!  We're glad you found us.   Whether you are an educator, a parent, or a concerned citizen, we hope you decide to become an active contributor in bringing balance to our K-12 schools and fostering the teaching of America's exceptional cultural and Constitutional heritage.  We invite you to JOIN New Renaissance In Education and help make this a reality.  Then, if you are an educator, PLEDGE to develop one lesson or curriculum within the next year.  If  you are a parent or concerned citizen, please PLEDGE to contact at least two educators you know who could contribute lessons or curriculum.  Just complete the Pledge Form on the home page.

NRIE is a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing educational integrity and balance to our K-12 schools, and to promoting the teaching of America's heritage.  To achieve its mission, NRIE is creating and will soon host a dynamic web platform that enables educators and others to interactively develop and share curriculum and lessons.   We recognize that to succeed in our mission, we need to enlist the expertise, ingenuity, and talents of educators and citizens throughout this great country.  These curriculum will be made available to teachers, homeschoolers, schools, and the general public through our website.  With your help, NRIE will also work aggressively to incorporate the curriculum into our public schools through the political process and by working with state education departments and local school jurisdictions.  The key to NRIE's success is YOUR expertise, Your creativity, YOUR energy.

We invite you to take a little time to explore our pledge website.  I especially urge you to please click on the Link  "Where YOU Fit In."   NRIE is very much a grassroots organization.  Your help in developing and sharing curriculum, recruiting others to do the same, or just helping build awareness of NRIE will be a key to our success.  Click on the links "About NRIE" and "Why NRIE" to find our more about the organization and its founder.  Finally, please click on the links "Curriculum Topics," NRIE's first cut at suggested curriculum topics, and "Sample Lessons," which has our Lesson Plan Template and sample lessons for "The Role of Profit In Society."  If you want to suggest additions or improvements to any of these, don't be shy.  Make any suggestions you wish.  This is YOUR website.  NRIE does not own the curriculum or lesson plans.  YOU DO.

There is a lot to be done and YOU are the storehouse of knowledge, the experts in pedagogy, the keepers of America's heritage that needs to be passed on the next generation.  YOU are the concerned parents and citizens of this great nation.  Please make a difference.  If 500 people submit lessons plans in the next six months, together we ALL have 500 lesson plans to use and to share.

We need curriculum that explores the philosophies and traditions that informed our Founding Fathers, explains the role of the Constitution in protecting our freedoms and the importance of Rule of Law, explores free market capitalism and its role in ensuring not only our prosperity but also our personal and political freedoms, and teaches the social virtues and culture heritage that has shaped American society such as liberty, justice, hard work, individual responsibility, self-reliance, family, charity, equality of opportunity, unity, tolerance, and temperance, among others.

"If a Nation expects to be ignorant and free. . . .  it expects what never was and never will be."  Thomas Jefferson.
